Traditional and Non-Force Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a natural, hands-on method of healing. Chiropractors correct subluxations in the spine. Subluxation is a $10 word that means the vertebra is out of place – not necessarily dislocated, but not quite where it belongs.
A subluxated vertebra does not move optimally. Have you ever had your arm in a cast? When a joint doesn’t move for weeks, it becomes hard to move, it is stiff and sore. It is the same when joints in the spine become subluxated. Along with the stiffness and pain from a subluxation, much of the nervous system can be affected. It is the central nervous system that controls and commands every muscle, organ and cell in your body. While nerves can become “pinched” and produce pain next to the area, they can also cause pain along their respective paths – such as neck pain radiating down your arms, or in the lower back and your legs. In addition, numbness or a burning sensation can occur in the arms, legs, or feet. When this occurs in the lower back or leg it is called Sciatica. These conditions are successfully treated with chiropractic care, without the use of surgery.
Our structure or musculoskeletal system—the human frame—consists of our joints, muscles, nerves, and bones. Their harmonious function is critical to our well-being. A thorough chiropractic examination and treatment program fulfills this vital aspect of our health.
Any person, with any disease process such as asthma, allergies, digestive disorders, headaches, and, of course, neck and back pain, can benefit from chiropractic adjustments because the nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions of the body.
